लालकुआं। भारतीय जनता पार्टी द्वारा लालकुआं विधानसभा सीट से मोहन सिंह बिष्ट को टिकट दे देने के बाद भारतीय जनता पार्टी से टिकट के प्रबल दावेदार पवन चौहान द्वारा आयोजित महापंचायत में पूर्व चेयरमैन पवन चौहान ने वर्ष 2012 से आज तक की गई भाजपा की सेवा का जिक्र करते हुए वह फफक फफक कर रो पड़े। उन्होंने भारतीय जनता पार्टी से इस्तीफा देते हुए निर्दलीय चुनाव लड़ने का ऐलान किया। उन्होंने कहा कि भाजपा का टिकट बंटवारा भाजपा की ताबूत में आखिरी कील साबित होगा, इस दौरान उन्होंने क्षेत्रवासियों को संबोधित करते हुए यह भी कहा कि वह लालकुआं विधानसभा सीट से निर्दलीय चुनाव मैदान में उतर कर कांग्रेस और भाजपा के प्रत्याशियों को धूल चटाएंगे। उन्होंने भाजपा के वरिष्ठ नेताओं पर उन्हें हमेशा नीचा दिखाने एवं राजनीति में पीछे धकेलने का भी आरोप लगाया।
